Jess Tolan
Jess Tolan graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Illinois with an emphasis on stock and commodities markets. He began his financial career as a stockbroker at Merrill Lynch in the downtown Los Angeles office in 1984. This is where he did his first loans in addition to further developing his knowledge of economics and the markets. After approximately 5 years as a stockbroker, he decided to pursue commercial Real Estate lending full time working for Wells Fargo in an exclusive unit in Beverly Hills. Later he went to Mitsui Bank, Beverly Hills, (then the world’s oldest and largest bank) as a Vice President. Here Jess’s unit offered both commercial loans to business as well as commercial Real Estate financing. Subsequently, he returned to Merrill Lynch, Denver, as a specialist providing both commercial and residential loans. For most of the 90’s and to this point, Mr. Tolan has worked independently brokering residential and commercial Real Estate loans. He is a co-founder and President of Thoroughbred Financial, Inc.

Dona Tolan
Dona Tolan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1991. Upon graduation, she began her career in the mortgage banking industry. To date, Dona has devoted approximately half of her time to retail loan processing with the other half in wholesale lending. She has held nearly every job title in the business including both Junior and Senior Processor, Operations Manager, Production Coordinator, Loan Account Manager, Underwriter, Closer, Sales Representative and Owner. She has worked the entire spectrum from large national wholesale lenders to small retail brokerages. Because of her years of experience in virtually every facet of the mortgage business, she has a unique ability to see transactions from every angle, to communicate with clients in a clear manner and to facilitate smooth loan closings. Dona oversees all administrative and loan processing functions at Thoroughbred. She is a co-founder and partner in Thoroughbred Financial, Inc.
